How The Semester GPA Calculator Works

CGPA is a credit-weighted average of all quality points.

Convert GPA to quality points

Multiply each GPA by its credit count. A 3.7 GPA over 15 credits contributes 55.5 quality points.

Add prior and new work

Prior quality points and new term quality points are added together before dividing by total credits.

Compare the change

The new CGPA is compared with the prior cumulative GPA to show whether the entered terms raised or lowered the average.

Semester GPA Calculator FAQ

Common questions about CGPA, credits, and repeated courses.

How is cumulative GPA calculated?

Cumulative GPA is total quality points divided by total attempted credits. Quality points are GPA multiplied by credits.

Can I enter more than one semester?

Yes. Add each semester, summer term, or planned term as a separate row with its GPA and credits.

Should repeated courses be included?

Use the GPA and credit rules from your school. Some schools replace repeated grades, while others average all attempts.
