Time Calculator
Find time between two clock times or add and subtract hours and minutes
Heads up: If the end time is earlier than the start time, the calculator treats it as the next day. That makes overnight shifts and late-night schedules work naturally.

Understanding Time Calculations
Use one page for time differences, overnight ranges, and clock-time arithmetic
What this calculator helps with
- Find the time between a start time and an end time for work shifts, class schedules, or travel plans.
- Add hours and minutes to a starting time to estimate an end time or deadline.
- Subtract time from a starting point when you need to work backward from an appointment or cutoff.
How it works
Time differences are calculated in total minutes. If the ending clock time is earlier than the starting time, the calculator rolls the ending time into the next day before subtracting. Add and subtract mode uses the same minute-based approach, then converts the result back to a normal clock time and indicates whether it lands on the same day, next day, or previous day.
Quick Examples
A few common ways people use a time calculator in practice
Work shift: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
8h 30m
Overnight shift: 10:15 PM to 6:00 AM
7h 45m
Add 2h 45m to 1:20 PM
4:05 PM
